The Fairhaven is a historic property which has already been known by many names. As early as 1891 it was known as the Buckingham Hotel, named after Connecticut’s Civil War governor, William A. Buckingham. In 1897, it was remodeled and reopened as the Del-Hoff Hotel. By the late 1900s it was converted into residential apartments, and has since been known as The Fairhaven. It was condemned in 2009, and has sat vacant and deteriorating ever since.
On June 13, 2017, Stackstone Group took possession of The Fairhaven, with a passion and a determination to restore this beautiful historic building. In an effort to give the building new life, we think it deserves a new name. Its new name should pay homage to its rich history, while also setting the stage for a bright future. It should reflect the charm and spirit of the town of Norwich, and it should be something the community is excited about.
